The musical journey of Asteroid began early. In 1996 he started playing the harp, and did so for seven years.Asteroid is the alias for a 22 year old young man called Jonathan. After quitting on the harp, he started producing and mixing in early 2005. A music program in a toy store drew his attention, and from that moment on he couldn't stop making sounds. After a while the simple 'toy' program had too many limits, so Jonathan switched to more advanced programs. Currently Asteroid is working on combining harp and electronic tunes into one massive sound. Be prepared for the future!
As for DJ-ing, Jonathan saw a friend mixing some tunes, and he was getting into that too. First Jonathan liked trance, later he switched to progressive. This was safely at home, only being judged by his brother and some friends. In May 2008 Asteroid decided to join the Alphen.NU DJ contest. He got selected out of 22 online contestants, and got third out of eight live contestants. Surprise, surprise, he didn't play trance or progressive house, he played drum 'n bass. He liked it so much that from that moment on he started playing drum 'n bass more frequently, also live at Basic Base in PopFront, Zwolle, PhonoPhanatic in Alphen aan den Rijn and 't Ukien in Kampen.
